Tchaikovsky, Pyotr - Trepak from 'The Nutcracker'
£15.00
only
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-93) was a Russian composer best known for his symphonies, tone poems and ballets. He wrote the fairy-tale ballet The Nutcracker in 1891-2 and is from an original story by E.T.A. Hoffmann 'The Nutcracker and the Mouse King'. Despite The Nutcracker becoming Tchaikovsky's most popular ballet it is well documented that he "detested the score". The energetic 'Trepak (Russian Dance)' is based on a traditional Ukrainian folk dance known as the 'Tropak'.
This arrangement by Helen Vollam is for trombone octet (6 tenors and 2 bass trombones). Score and parts provided.
