Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924) was an Italian composer best known for his operas.
He was once referred to as "the greatest composer of Italian opera after Verdi". His music is still hugely popular today, with operas 'Tosca', 'La Boheme', 'Madame Butterfly' and ' Turandot' being performed regularly throughout the world. This beautiful and well-loved aria is from his final opera ' Turandot' , which was left unfinished and later completed by Franco Alfano.
